Student Research Champions for AMR organized by ASPIC Clubs network; a student engagement initiative of ReAct Asia Pacific

 

ASPIC Clubs, a student engagement initiative of ReAct Asia Pacific is organizing a competition for undergraduate and postgraduate students, for the best research proposals on antimicrobial resistance. The proposals can be on any innovative approach to tackle antimicrobial resistance- ranging from community interventions to increase awareness about antibiotic use to novel diagnostic techniques for early diagnosis of infection to evaluation of antimicrobial properties of antimicrobial properties of herbal medicines. 

The proposal should be concise and should indicate the background, justification, objectives, methods and potential impact of the project. The proposal should be properly referenced, using any standard citation styles. The research proposal should be feasible with facilities available to the student at the college/university or other research institutions which may permit the student to do the work. The proposal should be maximum 4 pages long, in A4 size and font size of 12. It should indicate the name of the researcher, faculty supervisor and affiliations. The proposals should be send by email to aspic.react@gmail.com

The proposals will be evaluated by an expert panel comprising of biomedical scientists, social science researchers, infectious disease specialists, public health professionals and policy experts. The shortlisted candidates will be asked to present the research at a webinar organized for the purpose.

The winners will be mentored by a group of experts, so that the students gain the competencies for undertaking the proposed research work. The students may also receive career advice and international exposure through the mentorship programme.

Prizes are offered to the best proposals from undergraduate (group projects can be submitted comprising of 3 to 5 members) and postgraduate students. Three best proposals from each cohort (UG and PG) will be given prizes

Alexander Fleming Prize for best PG research proposals (3 Nos)
Rs. 20,000 as seed research grant + Commendation plaque + Certificate
